The duo of the Italian guitarist Luciano Marziali and the German guitarist Tobias Kassung is one of the great insider tips in the classical music scene. Both musicians have been at home as soloists and chamber musicians on the international stage for many years and know each other from their time together at the Cologne Music University.

In 2009, the two exceptional guitarists established their duo within the Cologne Classical Ensemble, with the aim of presenting unusual and cross-genre programs for two guitars.
Since the founding of their guitar duo, the focus has been on film music by famous Italian composers. Names such as Nino Rota or Ennio Morricone stand for unique cinematic music that is masterfully arranged and staged by Kassung & Marziali. The two use all the possibilities of the guitar duo and conjure up their own orchestra with innumerable sound effects. Their duo album “Il Cinema” has been released by KSG EXAUDIO, on which they capture the magic of the great film music of the 20th century.
They combine this music impressively with early Renaissance music by John Dowland and Kassung's own large suite “Il Cinema”, composed especially for this program.
