Violoncello

Jola Shkodrani was born into a family of artists in Tirana. As a passionate chamber musician, she plays with numerous renowned ensembles in North Rhine-Westphalia as well as with chamber orchestras such as the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen, the Classical Philharmonic Bonn and the Ravenna Festival Orchestra under Riccardo Muti.

She also teaches as a lecturer at the Ida Bieler Music Academy and is a member of the Cologne Classical Ensemble.
After graduating from the state art school in Tirana, Jola Shkodrani moved to Germany to study. At the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, she completed her diploma with Prof. Alexander Hülshoff. This was followed by a master’s degree at the University of Music in Cologne with Prof. Christian Schweiker, where she graduated with the top grade and then completed a master’s degree in chamber music with Andreas Reiner. Scholarships from the Federal Ministry of the Interior, prizes in several international competitions and master classes with Martin Ostertag, Leonid Gorokhov and the Minguett Quartet round off her artistic training.
