AACHEN: Luciano Marziali

Altes Kurhaus Aachen, Ballsaal, Kurhausstraße 1, 52058 Aachen

"My beloved Italy!" - Luciano Marziali presents great Italian guitar art. The master guitarist from Italy has been thrilling audiences for many years with his extraordinary and entertaining programmes at the highest level.

In Aachen, he will present his programme "Mia amata Italia". Particular emphasis will be placed on the masterful composers from Marziali's home town of Bergamo: beautiful miniatures by Benvenuto Terzi will be heard and - of course - music by Bergamo's greatest son: Gaetano Donizetti, in the form of Johann Kaspar Mertz's impressive opera revue about "Elisir d' Amore". As with Mertz, Marziali will also show how Italian music has fascinated and influenced several European composers since the Renaissance. He will use beautiful dances by Michael Praetorius as the best example of this.

Johann Kaspar Mertz: Opern-Revue Op. 8 Nr. 8 aus Gaetano Donizettis Zaubertrank; Tarantella Op. 13 Nr. 6;
Domenico Scarlatti: Sonata in A-Dur K. 208 und D-Dur K. 335;
Michael Praetorius: Vier Tänze aus Terpsichore;
Benvenuto Terzi: ausgewählte Werke
