4. Chamber Concert 2020: Semenenko & Firsova

Kölnischer Kunstverein, Hahnenstraße 6, 50667 Köln

Aleksey Semenenko (violin), Inna Firsova (piano)

Program:
Ludwig van Beethoven: Sonate Nr. 6 in A-Dur, op. 30 Nr. 1
Igor Strawinski: Divertimento „Le Baiser de la fée – Der Kuss der Fee“
Olivier Messiaen: Thème et Variations für Violine and Klavier (1932)

Gabriel Fauré: „Au bord de l‘eau“ op. 8; „Aprês un rêve“ op. 7
Alexander Rosenblatt: Carmen Fantasy on themes from the opera by Georges Bizet

After his debut at the Kennedy Center, the Washington Post wrote: "Semenenko (...) explored every corner of the composer's imagination (...) a real triumph". Since winning the prestigious Young Concert Artists Auditions in New York in 2012 and the Boris Goldstein Violin Competition in 2015, Aleksey Semenenko has been one of the world's violinists and can look forward to a lively concert activity in Europe and the USA, as a soloist and chamber musician. Aleksey Semenenko plays a Stradivarius violin from 1699, which was made available to him by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
Aleksey Semenenko forms a permanent duo with the pianist Inna Firsova. They have given concerts in the Berlin Philharmonic, Schloss Elmau and the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival. At the 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival 2016, the duo won the Orlando Jury and Television Award for “Best Concert” of the festival.

After the grandiose concert by Aleksey Semeneko & Inna Firsova on October 31, 2020, the chamber concerts at the Kunstverein had to close again. The enthusiastic listeners experienced a top-class concert that will remain in our memories for a long time. It was deeply moving! We are publishing the recordings of this special concert here. We would like to thank Aleksey Semenenko and Inna Firsova for the permission, as well as our media partner KSG Exaudio for the recording and the production.
